The Good Bad, and Birds and Bees

Well this has been a bad week. First, last Saturday night my cell phone (O2 Atom) stop working, and it looks like they can’t fix it. Then on Tuesday we woke to find our six year old refrigerator not working and all the food in the freezer had gone bad. Then On Thursday I found myself stuck at work until 9:30pm and missed my Thursday night beach volleyball game (that one was my fault). I hope things get better this week.

Shrek the Third
Last Saturday, We saw Shrek, and I was a bit disappointed. I guess the first two were so good, that this one had a large mountain to climb. The main problem for me was that I did not find myself laughing, and I was a bit bored. The ending was a big letdown, and I felt the movie did not flow well, (what ever that means). Maybe they just ran out of good ideas. I would not say it was a bad movie, but I could have skipped this one
5/10 smile_thinkingYou can skip this one

Spring has come to our back yard.
Some birds have come and built a nest in one of our trees, I think we should name them. I just a bit worried that the nest is too low, and if Frodo see it, he may not be too happy.

Pick a Social Cause you believe in

I know that this a cheap ploy, to get more people to use Windows Live Messenger. But I’m using IM Messenger anyways, and it does not hurt me in any way, so I did it. Take a look, and see what you think. (thanks for the link Feli)

Spider-man 3

So I saw Spider-man 3 this weekend…. Well… I did not hate it, but I did not love it. So what was done right for me, and what was done wrong?

First the things that were good...
thumbs_upIt had a good ending (I will not go into it, but it was good).
thumbs_upThe problems that Mary Jane (Kirsten Dunst) was going though, was well done, and it felt real.
thumbs_upThomas Haden Church, and James Franco AKA. Sandman & Harry Osborn both acted well.
thumbs_upThe effects were amazing.

Now for the bad...
smile_yawnFirst off the story felt like it dragged.
smile_confusedThey did not need both Venom, and Sandman, they could have cleaned up the story, by just having one.
smile_thinkingThis had to be the worst acting job I have ever seen Tobey Maguire do. There were parts in this movie were I felt uncomfortable watching him, and he looked uncomfortable performing them.

Oh well, on to the next movie.

4.5/10 Some will love this film just for being a spider-man movie, but it does not deliver, too bad.smile_thinking

Summer Movie Bonanza!!

This summer is going to be a good time for movies for me, weekends full of mindless dribble to watch, I love it. I know there are a lot more, but this is what I can think of right now.

Spider-Man 3, May, 4. Ok this is a must see for me. I hope it's as good as it looks.

28 Weeks Later, May, 11. I loved the move 28 Days later, and I hope that this one is half as good. If you have not seen 28 Days later, and you like zombies movies you must see that one before going to this one (for all I know this one might suck)

Shrek the Third, May, 18. Another must see, I just can't wait to see what they have done.

Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End, May, 25 I need to see the second movie before I go and see this one. Some people told me that the second movie was really bad, and that I should not bother to see it, but now people are saying that this one looks good, so I will take the plunge.

Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, June, 15. The first one was just ok, but I liked it enough for me to want to see this one. And I just wanted to see how they will introduce the Silver Surfer, and all that he brings.

Evan Almighty, June, 22. Something light and funny, I hope its good, and not just stupid, we will see.

Dead or Alive, June, 22. I know, I know, this may be just as bad as Street Fighter with Jean-Claude Van Damme, but I played the game, so my interest is peeked

Live Free or Die Hard, June, 27. Yes this is old school, but might be a fun ride.

The Transformers, July, 4. Hmm, I hate this movie, but will go and see it anyway's. OK I have a lot to say about this one. I grown up watching the Transformers, so I was happy to hear that this movie was getting made, however, now I don't think this is the Transformers that I remember, and I know I will be upset about that. So I'm hoping that this is just going to be a fun ride, and that is all.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, July, 13. I have seen the 3 before this one, so I need to see what happens next.

Hairspray, July, 20. This might be fun

The Simpsons Movie, July, 27. Another must see for me. hehe

Rush Hour 3, August, 10. Blah, I laughed at the first two, so what the heck, I'll go for a third.

I don’t know what to Say

One day we were driving home and decided to take another route home; just so that we could take a look at some of the other houses in our neighborhood. Wile wishing that we were living on the “other side of the tracks” we came across this home, and had to take a picture.

Ok, my first reaction was… “What the hell is that, and what did they do to their place?!” Why would anyone paint characters on their garage door? However later found out that the characters are the Official Mascots of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, so I thought to myself; “That is ok, I think I would do something Canadian, if Toronto got the Olympic Games, or something as big was going on in Canada.

Yet again, a friend of mine said to me that he would be offended if this was done in his neighborhood. He said that we are in Canada, and that we should be backing our own Olympic team, and country, and he feels that this is a slap in the face to him.
Hmm… should I be offended? I don’t know. I might do something to say that my family is from Grenada, if something big was going on in there.

I guess the initial shock of seeing it turned me off, but now that I know what it is, I’m not turned off by it; it’s kind of cute, and funny. However in the fall of 2008 after the Games, if they were my neighbors, I would want it to come down.
