Games, Games, Games

This weekend was gaming weekend for me. A friend of mine let me their XBOX 360 (he just got a new PS3, and is loving playing with it), I also played a lot of PC games, and won at poker (well not really won, just got my money back before the end of the night, sorry Rod, heheh).

Well, I started to play Supreme Commander once again. Last time, I was vary disappointed with it, but thought that I would give it another try, before I delete the demo. After working with the graphic settings again, and getting them to a point were I can play the game (it’s still not grate, but a lot better), I’m now having some fun with the demo, and I think I will get the full version now, and try and finish the game.

I love the Def-Jam series of fighting games, and have completed them all, even though I suck at video game (my list of completed games is small). So I down loaded the Demo for the new, Def-Jam ICONS, and all I have to say, is that I hate this game, I mean I really hate this game. And it’s really too bad, but that is why I love playing demos, I don’t have to waste money on a game that sucks. Also on the XBOX side of things, I’m finding that there are not too many games that I like. The only games I found fun to play were Dead or Alive 4, and 99 Nights, both are Japanese game, I don’t know what that means. So I wanted to know if my old copy of Def-Jam fight for YN for the old xBox would work for 360; and guess what, it does not work. Hmm.. I think I’m starting to look at the PS3, as my next game system, we will see. (I’m playing GOD of WAR 1 on my PS2 right now, it is so much fun, and it works on the PS3, just saying)

Onto on line games; witch is not my cup of tea, however something somewhere got me thinking about EVE-Online again, so I downloaded the 14 day trial to try.  I did that three weeks ago, and I’m still playing, it’s not the best game, and it’s a slow game, but for some reason I want to keep getting a bigger and bigger ship, so I’m still playing. Some people online have tried to talk to me, but I’m not ready to play with others yet, and I just don’t think I have the time to play with other people. When I play by myself, I can stop playing any time, I don’t think I can do that, with other people, with out pissing some people off.

So the games I’m playing right now are (or going to play):

Supreme Commander

God of War I & II

EVE Online

I’m going to look at Command and Conquer next, people are saying that it is good

Getting Back into the Gaming

A good time has passed since the last time I have played a good video game, a game that I just could not stop playing. I would have to say that the last game that I really had fun with was Def Jam: Fight for NY, I really loved playing that game.

Now I'm on the hunt for my next game. I just installed the demo for Supreme Commander; I was really looking forward to this game, it was going to be my next Starcraft (the best real time strategy game of all time ). Well to my surprise, my computer is not up to spec, and the game is really choppy, witch makes it not fun to play smile_sad. I so disappointed, I was really looking forward to this one. Now I have to get a new computer; maybe I will ask for one for my birthday cakesmile_wink

Right now, I'm installing Lineage II, and I don't know how it is yet because it is taking forever to install. A friend of mine is playing it right now, and is loving it. I really don't know if I will like it, but I said I would give it a try (there is a free 14 day trial). I really don't like the idea of paying to play a game each month, however I did play both World of Warcraft, and EVE online, and I liked them both. The problem I found with those two games is that it took a lot of time to play, and I found them both repetitive. But I did stick with World of Warcraft a lot longer than EVE.

OK, the install is now done, talk to you later.

Hope you all had a good 2006 and looking forward to a good 2007. Did not go out this year, just stayed home, and made crab ( love crab ).

The year went by so fast, and also slow, but over all it was a good year.
• Friends got married
• Dan and I found ourselves on TV, We were on the show the Biggest Loser

• Brother got engaged
• Had a lot of big family get-togethers (really nice).
• Got back into playing poker.
• Started to read comic books again, and I hope it will spark my interest in art soon

The work year was not so good, however, there now have been some changes at work, and I hope things will now get better. One of my New Years resolutions will be to work harder in and outside of work, with any task I’m giving.

Ok now for some other New Year resolutions.
• The main thing I need to do is get organized; organized will all aspects of my life. I just don’t know were to start, or how, but that is my main goal.
• Save more money, and try not to spend so much at lunch.
• Continue with the Gym, and try to push myself harder. (Need to lose 30lbs)
• Do more reading, and less TV watching. (lol, I hope)
• Try and do a blog entry at least 3 times a week.
Hmm.. .there is not much more I want to change. I’m happy with my life right now, and looking forward to 2007. Just sad that this is the end of my time off work, I have to go back in tomorrow, as do most of us.

Now I’m going to go and play my new Naruto video game. “Naruto: Clash of Ninja 2” I’m loving this game, and I want the new ones that are out in Japan.

oh one last thing, my internet speed went up, still not good, but better.

Playing with my PSP again

One of the things I got for my Birthday was two $50 EB (Electronics Boutique) gift cards. Well I just used them on two new games for my PSP. Tekken Dark Resurrection and Def Jam: Fight for NY: The Takeover, now I can dust off my PSP. Both games play really well, and I do not have problem pulling off the fighting moves in them. Right now I’m playing Def Jam (not a game for the little ones), and I’m having a good time playing it. If you have a PSP and like fighting games you need to get these two games, good times all around.
But don’t get Def Jam for your kids.

Getting too old for games

I hope it is not true, but I find I'm not into games, the way I use to be. The only games I want to play, are the ones that are short, and quick to play. However I feel this is the fault of the game makers, games take way too much time to play, and you can't just stop save, and come back later to continue playing.

Also I find that when I play a game for a long time, it now feels like I wasted all that time doing nothing, and getting nothing out of it. I is strange that I don't feel that way about TV watching.

Oh well just something I was thinking about on my way to work.
